Post #7 Mission: To stand by our troops who are or have served "In Harms Way"
Since 1902, VFW Post #7 has proudly supported US veterans of all past and present wars. Our foremost focus is upon how to best meet the needs of recent veterans and currently deployed troops and their families. We are also involved in local youth and community service activities; such as the Voice of Democracy (VOD) Scholarship Program.
Post Relocated: In July 2010, VFW Post #7 relocated to serve the veterans and their families in the communities of: Mound, Long Lake, Orono, Maple Plain, Spring Park and Wayzata. Our monthly business meetings are held in the Pavilion at Mound Bay Park in Mound. After 100 years, we understand that a veterans organizarion does NOT need to own "walls" to effectively provide service to veterans, their families and the community.
The VFW
The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States began in 1898, after the Spanish-American War. The VFW is the oldest major veterans service organization in the United States with nearly three million members.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is chartered by the U.S. Congress. Each VFW Post is a 501 c 19 non-profit corporation. VFW Post #7's non-profit corporation status is on file at the Minnesota Secretary of State's office.
